Researcher for Ultrasonic Wireless Power Transfer Systems Help advance next-generation biomedical implants through innovative ultrasonic wireless power transfer systems. Join TU Delft for a 10-month research project in integrated circuit design. Job description

At Delft University of Technology, we push the boundaries of science and engineering to make a real difference in people's lives. As a researcher in ultrasonic wireless power transfer systems, you will contribute to the development of smart biomedical implants powered without wires.

During this 10-month research project, you will focus on designing and testing integrated circuits for ultrasonic power transfer. Your work will combine principles of analog and mixed-signal IC design with acoustic and biomedical applications. You will analyse energy transfer efficiency, miniaturisation trade-offs and circuit robustness, developing prototypes that can operate safely within the human body.

You will work closely with experts in microelectronics, ultrasound technology and biomedical engineering, in a collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment. In our state-of-the-art labs, you'll have access to advanced design tools and testing facilities to turn ideas into tangible results.

Your work will directly contribute to the development of safer, more efficient implantable devices that improve healthcare outcomes. In doing so, you'll gain valuable experience in a rapidly growing field that bridges microelectronics, acoustics and medical technology.

Job requirements

Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) brings together three scientific disciplines. Combined, they reinforce each other and are the driving force behind the technology we all use in our daily lives. Technology such as the electricity grid, which our faculty is helping to make completely sustainable and future-proof. At the same time, we are developing the chips and sensors of the future, whilst also setting the foundations for the software technologies to run on this new generation of equipment - which of course includes AI. Meanwhile we are pushing the limits of applied mathematics, for example mapping out disease processes using single cell data, and using mathematics to simulate gigantic ash plumes after a volcanic eruption. In other words: there is plenty of room at the faculty for ground-breaking research.
