THE ROLE YOU PLAY If you know art'otel, you know we like to do things differently. Our guests come to us for something that goes beyond their usual hotel expectations, so we're looking for an Sales & Events Manager to help make art'otel amsterdam the area's premier venue for meetings and events. Your approach to the job will be inspired by your authentic style and self - always ready with care and attention, a bright idea, a recommendation that only you could give. You'll know exactly who needs what and when, you'll remember their names and you'll use your creativity and experience to deliver a fantastic event every time. In your role as Sales & Events Manager, you'll discuss and agree some key objectives with your line manager. These objectives are designed to support your department's goals and priorities. You'll also take responsibility for your own development, embracing training opportunities that we offer, while learning from any challenges and mistakes along the way. HOW YOU DO IT
  • You're taking the lead in seeking new business regarding our hotel's brilliant private hire offerings for social events for all F&B outlets and Gallery.
  • You're in charge of the whole communication process, creating a stellar reputation for our hotel, promoting it with key messages aimed at building loyalty and interaction, all with the goal of increasing our revenue.
  • You'll manage the client journey, from enquiry through to the big day, covering everything from site visits to menu tastings.
  • You'll work closely with our Operations and Kitchen teams to make sure the whole event runs smoothly.
  • You'll be responding to all M&E enquiries, getting back to prospective clients quickly and efficiently, and converting them into confirmed bookings.
  • You'll generate quotes based on the guidelines provided by our Revenue & Pricing Manager, M&E cluster manager and F&B manager sending them out to potential clients.
  • You'll issue contracts and deposit requests for confirmed business.
  • You'll use your negotiating skills, strong judgement and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts, as well as upsell where possible, to make sure we're achieving our M&E targets and staying within our budgets.
  • You'll work collaboratively with our M&E and F&B operations and kitchen teams to make sure event delivery is smooth. You'll producing clear and accurate BEOs, attending weekly BEO meetings and handing over to the team in charge on the day. You'll also stay for the first couple of hours of large scale events of the event if needed.
  • You have full ownership of BEOs for your events, making sure accurate information is communicated efficiently and at the right time.
  • You'll support our M&E Sales and Planning Manager with reporting and ad hoc projects when required.
  • You will support or marketing team with actions and support where needed for F&B outlets and Gallery events
  • You'll be responsible for any required collateral and menus in consultation with brand templates to ensure all stages of the client journey before, during and after the event look & sound the best in line with the brand and competition.
  • In consultation with Marketing, you are responsible for helping to ensure 3rd party listings for our event spaces look & sound the best online and remain always up to date with the latest content and promotions.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • You'll have a solid understanding of competitors' products and venues, using this as a springboard to establish and adjust our selling strategy alongside the GM&E Sales Director.
  • You're a leader, supervising and supporting the M&E Sales & Planning team and their development goals.
  • You're able to switch between being proactive and reactive, with your eye on the goal of driving incremental business into the hotel through multiple revenue streams, segments & industries.
  • You're confident in creating strong links with all our hotel's departments to help you make sure all commercial objectives are achieved, as well as targets, KPIs and budgets.
  • There's a lot more to this job than we've given you here - don't worry, we'll fill you in on everything before you begin. We might also add other similar responsibilities on a temporary or permanent basis, depending on the needs of art'otel.
