Visibility

: You will be a key figure in the evolution of PostNL's Data Analytics & MLOps platform. Your work will directly empower Data Analytics/AI/ML development across the company.

Challenge:

You combine hands-on solutions designing and engineering with technical product ownership. As the product in transitioning from AWS SageMaker to Databricks, you ensure a minimal-migration path and drive the platform's roadmap, enabling generative AI and ML use cases at scale.

: You will co-define the vision and design of PostNL's Data Analytics/AI/ML platform, guide platform adoption, and promote best practices in Data Analytics and MLOps workflows across the organization.

This is a hybrid role at the intersection of platform engineering, solution consulting, and product design. You will help shape the future of PostNL's Data Analytics/ML/AI capabilities by designing and implementing the Consuming part of our Databricks platform enabling analysts and data scientists to work in a scalable, secure, and compliant way. 

As we transition from AWS SageMaker to Databricks, your input will be critical in designing platform standards, user journeys, way of working standards and migration strategies. You'll collaborate with MLOps engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption and a future-proof foundation. 

Both hands-on engineering and solution architecture, user journey design are essential parts of this role - we're looking for someone who's comfortable contributing to both. That said, we're flexible in how much you focus on each. You might lean more into MLOps and internal tooling, or you might prefer to focus on understanding user needs, shaping their journeys, solution design, and guiding stakeholders. In either case, a deep understanding of our users - and the ability to turn their needs into scalable platform solutions - is at the heart of what you do. You'll help teams set up effective workflows, and ensure our platform evolves to support both daily use and innovation at scale.

Jouw collega's

You'll join the Data Analytics Services team, consisting of platform and MLOPS engineers, a platform owner, tech lead, and scrum master. Together, you develop internal tooling and infrastructure to support analytics and MLOps. You'll also collaborate with data scientists, analysts, architects, and compliance experts. The top five benefits of your job are:

• Salary between €4,521.29 and €6,402.21 gross per month (scale 11) for 37 hours per week.
• Hybrid work model with flexibility to choose your hours. If you work two or more days a week from home, you receive a €45 net monthly allowance.
• 8% holiday pay and 25 vacation days (based on a full-time contract).
• Travel expense reimbursement for commuting.

You combine technical expertise with strong product thinking and communication skills. You understand the needs of MLOps engineers and data scientists, and you know how to translate them into scalable platform solutions.

You also bring:

• A bachelor's or master's degree (HBO/WO) in Computer Science, Informatics, Econometrics, Data Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in solution consulting, data science, data analytics, and/or MLOps.
• The ability to engage with users and translate their needs into platform features.
• Familiarity with key Databricks components like Unity Catalog, MLflow, clusters, jobs, workflows, and workspace access.
• Experience with Python, especially for ML scripting and internal tooling.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Experience with Databricks platform design and infrastructure and experience with AWS SageMaker/CDK would be nice to have.
