We are seeking a Data Scientist with Python coding background who will make a difference by automating our mortgage processes through solutions that can read, interpret and process documents using GenAI and other AI-tools. Additionally, we are actively exploring opportunities to integrate AI tools and AI agents capable of dealing with more complex contexts into our services for customers, advisors and colleagues. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our customer processes and elevating our overall customer experience.
The salary for this position ranges between €4092 and €5846 per month, depending on your knowledge and experience. This is based on a 36-hour workweek and excludes additional monthly benefits like the 13th-month payment and vacation allowance.
What you are going to do
With your solution-oriented and proactive mindset, you will translate business challenges into innovative data science solutions, driving value creation for our future business.
Develop, deploy and monitor AI solutions into production, specifically focusing on integrating GenAI models for mortgage-related applications. To achieve this, you will develop Python libraries for running AI Systems, create utilities to maintain ground truth datasets, automate pipelines for evaluating AI System performance, monitor drifts and propose improvements to the models.
Explore and apply new AI technologies and trends, particularly in the mortgage domain, with a focus on utilizing LLMs (OpenAI) and other AI services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the mortgage domain to ensure seamless integration of AI solutions into the customer journey
Implement and integrate models in the cloud infrastructure that we use (Azure and AWS).
Assist business colleagues in drawing up their needs to make processes more efficient and effectively communicate and demonstrate the benefits of the solutions to drive AI adoption within the organization.

Who you are
You are results-oriented and take pride in delivering code projects for the business, with a strong focus on the further adoption of our AI solutions. Your open-mindedness and communication skills greatly contribute to this. Additionally, you should have:
A bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, IT, or a related field with a strong emphasis on Data Science
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in developing real-world applications.
Proven track record in designing and implementing AI Solutions, particularly focusing on foundation models and LLMs. Experience in natural language processing (NLP) is desirable.
Practical expertise and utilizing LLMs/GenAI across the data science lifecycle, including data collection, data processing, model evaluation and deployment.
Experience in deploying AI models into production and seamlessly integrating them into the customer journey and workflow using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and their AI services.
Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with consuming and developing Python REST APIs, unit testing and writing production-quality code.
Experience with JavaScript and training ML models is a plus.
Demonstrate a growth mindset with a strong ability to understand users' business processes and challenges.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse functional teams.
Proficiency in the Dutch language is a plus.

You will work in a team with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and a Product Manager who keenly captures business needs and requirements. Together, you will collaborate on developing data and AI solutions that enhance services for customers and colleagues, making them better, faster, and easier to use. Your team will closely collaborate with other product teams within the mortgage domain to integrate your AI solutions into the customer journey. In the team we value open communication, experimentation, and celebrating success together.
Additionally, you will be a member of the Data Science guild, where approximately 70 Data Scientists from across Nationale-Nederlanden come together.
