We are seeking a part-time Painter who is passionate about transforming spaces and maintaining the pristine charm of our hotel.
A hotel painter is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the aesthetics of the hotel by performing painting and repair work. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of painting techniques, and a focus on ensuring the hotel’s interiors and exteriors meet high standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Painting and Maintenance:
• Prepare surfaces (e.g., walls, ceilings, doors) by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer.
• Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to hotel interiors and exteriors.
• Maintain consistency in colour and texture across painted areas.
2. Repairs and Touch-ups:
• Inspect walls and surfaces for cracks, chips, or peeling paint.
• Perform minor repairs such as patching holes or repairing damaged drywall before painting.
• Ensure a neat and uniform finish by blending touch-ups with existing paint.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with the maintenance team to prioritize painting tasks.
• Follow management’s instructions for design and colour schemes.
• Provide recommendations on paint types, finishes, and techniques.
4. Safety and Compliance:
• Use protective gear and follow safety guidelines while painting.
• Store and handle painting materials (e.g., paint, solvents) according to hotel and environmental regulations.
• Ensure areas are properly ventilated during and after painting.
5. Aesthetic Improvements:
• Collaborate with designers or management to implement decorative painting, murals, or accent walls.
• Maintain the visual appeal of high-traffic areas such as lobbies, guest rooms, hallways, and exteriors.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU:
• Proven experience as a painter, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting
• Familiarity with various painting tools, techniques, and materials
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
• Attention to detail and a good eye for design
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical stamina and ability to work on ladders or scaffolding
