About Global Duty Billing
The Global Duty Tower operates as a pivotal component within the Global Express Finance framework, dedicated to transforming duty billing through innovation and cross-functional collaboration. Our four key areas of focus-Global Duty Billing Processes, Product Management, Country Readiness and Change Management, and Deployment Strategy - are designed to deliver innovative processes and systems that create exceptional value for our customers and for DHL.
The position sits within the process team that focuses on duty billing processes, policies, and compliance. The primary objective of the team is to optimize, standardize, and align processes across functions. The team identifies improvement opportunities through data insights and ensures compliance with both regulatory and organizational frameworks.
The team also plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between complex customs clearance procedures and high-quality financial outcomes-ensuring transparency, billing completeness, and regulatory compliance in every country where DHL operates.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
As a Process Expert, you will streamline and improve duty billing processes, ensuring they align with organizational goals and industry standards. You will be responsible for the design, documentation and implementation of the processes. Your contributions will help bridge the gap between customs clearance and financial outcomes, ensuring accuracy and compliance in every billing cycle.
Key responsibilities:

Process Review and Improvement: Assist in the assessment of existing duty billing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for enhancement. Document identified gaps and support the implementation of improvements in line with organizational goals. Coordinate process definition workshops.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with customs clearance teams, finance, product and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of effective billing processes. Foster strong relationships to facilitate the smooth flow of information and processes.

Stakeholder Management:Align with internal and external stakeholders, addressing issues and ensuring compliance and efficiency in processes.

Documentation and Compliance: Create accurate documentation of all process changes, including workflows, policies, and procedures. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data related to duty billing processes to identify trends and insights that support decision-making. Prepare recommendations for process improvements based on data analysis.

Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs for team members and stakeholders to enhance understanding of duty billing processes and tools.

Change Request Process: Coordinate the change request process & align with countries and regions to ensure clear documentation and impact analysis of requests.

Performance Measurement: Support the tracking and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to duty billing. Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes based on performance data.

Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed of changes in customs regulations and assess their impact on duty billing processes, ensure timely updates to duty billing processes and policies.
Do you have what it takes?
We are seeking an ideal candidate with a strong academic background and relevant experience in Finance, Business Management, IT, Supply Chain Management, or related fields. This individual will possess a solid understanding of customs and duty billing processes, alongside proficiency in process mapping and project management methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in analysis, process design, and improvement-preferably within customs clearance or trade compliance-the candidate will excel in dynamic environments. You will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit, driving continuous improvements and innovative solutions.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in analysis, process design, and improvement, particularly in regulated or cross-functional environments
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of customs and duty billing processes preferred.
- Proficiency in process mapping and project management methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with customs clearance or trade compliance processes is an advantage.
- Ability to execute data analysis by translating business questions into data-driven enquiries.
