At PostNL our business unit "Cross Border Solutions" (CBS) makes it easy for people and businesses to communicate and trade across international boundaries. CBS aims to become the most respected service provider by supporting the cross-border e-commerce market through creative and innovative distribution solutions. In this international business unit we have 13 offices worldwide with 1.200 employees, being agile, customer focused and reliable. CBS serves customers over 190 countries.

Being one of our Data Scientist it is your role to challenge the business and to support with data-driven projects and you will act as a business partner to your stakeholders. In this way you will advise and implement solutions, provide data solutions and translate business knowledge into data insights. Furthermore, you design, develop, and deliver machine learning and/or optimization solutions that improve processes and business outcomes within PostNL, while contributing to the growth and maturity of the data science practice.

The BI&A team has 22 members in total. In your sub-team you will have 2 fellow Data Scientists and an MLOps engineer. The top benefits of your position are:

• A salary between €4.453,00 and €7.338,00 gross per month (scale 11/12) based on a 37-hour workweek. It's also possible to work 32 hours per week.
• The possibility to work hybrid with flexible working hours. Do you work two or more days a week from home? Then you will receive a €45 net compensation per month

In this role you will bring hands-on data science experience and a proven track record of building and delivering end-to-end machine learning solutions. Besides this, you have strong stakeholder management and people oriented in your approach. Additionally, you recognize yourself in this:

• 4+ years of experience in data science or a related field
• Proven track record of showing seniority within the team; in this context it means being proactive, showing team leadership, and elevating the level of your peers
• Experience with ML Ops and/or Operations Research
• Experienced with Python, SQL and PySpark
• Experience with cloud services (at PostNL we use AWS) and containerizing ML workloads using Docker
