Payment Platform Development Engineer

As Payment Platform Engineer you help make sure ING's international payments are processed flawlessly. This means you refine, specify, and configure new features in line with high-level business requirements or rulebook changes. Each squad owns its own set of services, configuration, and applications. This also means you functionally test what is delivered by the squad, align with our vendor at content level, align with surrounding building blocks and solve problems across environments - including production. The position is suitable for people that are analytical and understand payments, but also have a keen interest in IT.  

The Team

You will be a member of a newly formed team of 6 to 9 highly specialized technology platform architects. This team is tasked with overseeing the design, realization, operation, and management of technology infrastructure and platforms used globally within PSS. Their responsibilities include collaborating with engineering teams to make strategic design decisions and developing technical standards for infrastructure design patterns, application integration patterns, and the use of common tools. The team's primary objective is to ensure that the foundational platforms are fit-for-purpose, reliable, resilient, scalable, secure, and cost effective.

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • a team member that is result-oriented and proactive,

  • with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of payments,

  • with proven experience and interest in IT,

  • and with an analytical mind,

  • that is also a good communicator, fluent in English - both written and spoken.
