The Netherlands Centre for One Health (NCOH).
The aim of ECRAID is to reduce the impact of infectious diseases on individuals and on the population level. NCOH aims for an integrated One Health approach to tackle the global risk of infectious diseases. NCOH commits to create durable solutions for this major challenge by bundling world leading academic top research in the Netherlands in the area of One Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate clinical studies in the fields of Pandemic Preparedness and Emerging Infectious Diseases. In this position you will take a leading role in setting up clinical studies in collaboration with researchers at the department, by writing study proposals, IRB submission, and coordinating data and sample logistics.
- Outbreak Response and Preparedness. You will play a contributing role in developing and implementing outbreak response strategies and pandemic preparedness research projects.
- Establish and develop partnerships and collaborations with academic medical centers universities, research institutes and (non-) governmental agencies in other countries.
The Department of Viroscience employs over 180 people from around the world and exists of the Unit Clinical Virology and the unit Research. Within the Clinical Virology Unit, viral diagnostics are conducted for patient care within the Netherlands and internationally. The unit focuses on continuous development of new and improved diagnostic methods, as well as patient-centred topics such as antiviral resistance, viral pathogenesis, and the effectiveness of antiviral therapy.
The Unit Research harbors different disciplines and runs an extensive research program on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of infections by human and animal viruses. The clinical studies are performed in close collaboration between the 2 units.
We are looking for a Clinical Study Coordinator who is enthusiastic and highly motivated, with:
- Proven experience or affinity with Emerging Infectious Diseases, either in clinical medicine or research.
- Experience with coordination of clinical studies is an asset, preferably in the fields of emerging infectious diseases and/or pandemic preparedness.
- Proven experience with international collaborations and partnerships.
- A background in Medicine and/or a PhD in the Public Health, Infectious Disease, Biomedical, or Epidemiology field are a plus.
- Candidates should have excellent communication skills, and possess an outstanding command of English and preferably also Dutch, both orally and in writing.

Terms of employment Terms of employment- You will receive a temporary position for 1 year.
- The gross monthly salary amounts a maximum of € 6.156,- (scale 11), depending on your level of education and relevant experience, based on a full-time working week of 36 hours.
