German Speaking Credit Controller

A Credit Controller is vital for ensuring timely payments from customers, which in turn maintains a balanced A/R ledger, solidifies cash flow, and minimizes credit risk. By actively managing payment behavior and resolving disputes, they optimize financial processes, resulting in efficient cash collection, low Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and enhanced financial stability for the company. Overall, the Credit Controller's role is integral to sustaining a healthy financial position and mitigating potential risks associated with credit management.

General requirements

  • Strong communication skills (internal and external), including proficient telephone manners.
  • Knowledgeable in various payment methods and basic bookkeeping/accounting principles.
  • Proficient in PC applications such as MS Excel and MS Word, with advanced spreadsheet and word processing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude toward discovery and innovation.
  • Strong arithmetic skills and organizational/administrative capabilities.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Minimum 1 year of credit control experience, with fluency in German.

Tasks

  • Monitor A/R aging and resolve payment discrepancies, including contacting customers about overdue invoices.
  • Communicate with credit insurance companies regarding credit limits, overdue accounts, and legal matters.
  • Participate in regular credit reviews to optimize delivery performance and minimize credit risk.
  • Assist in maintaining customer master data, reconciling payments, and coordinating with sales/customer service.
  • Monitor and follow up on legal cases, and ensure proper execution of decisions made during credit reviews.
