The Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics is a research institute of the German Max Planck Society. Its mission is to undertake basic research into the psychological, social and biological foundations of language. The Language Archive at the MPI is a digital archive that contains materials from more than 200 different languages that are spoken around the world. A small software development team is responsible for the development and maintenance of the archiving software and linguistic tools.
