The group Engine Definition and Thermodynamics (ED&T) is part of the Engine Integration & Validation department. For the ED&T group we are looking for a 1D Simulation Engineer. Job descriptionPrepare, perform and analyse 1D simulations with GT-Power. Develop optimal approach for engine modelling, combining good simulations accuracy with low computational time. Procure and prepare existing measurement data and design new engine tests if necessary, to validate and improve the accuracy of the models. Support R&D engine activities with 1D simulation investigations. Develop simulation plans and perform simulations to solve technical challenges and optimize the engine performance. Collaboration in project teams. ProfileMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with specialization on internal combustion engines and at least one year of experience with 1D internal combustion engine simulations. During your master or professional career you have obtained experience:• with 1D internal combustion engine simulations, by preference HD diesel engines.• in using: GT-Power and MatLab• preferable Concerto, Cameo and Minitab.• with modelling combustion engines and understanding the relative strengths and weaknesses of different modelling techniques. Detailed knowledge of engine thermodynamics and systems, including turbo machinery, combustion and emissions formation.Have a solid knowledge of thermo-fluids relationships, heat transfer and energy conversion.Excellent analytical, mathematical, numerical and data analysis skills.Structured working approach combined with pleasure to work in teams.Very good communication skills.
