About the team: The Strategic Program Team is IFCO's central strategy and M&A unit, reporting directly to the CEO. We drive the company's global growth and transformation initiatives, from M&A transactions and new market entries to global pricing measures and other high-impact strategic programs. As a working student, you will work directly with senior team members on topics that shape IFCO's future and gain first-hand exposure to executive-level decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic analysis & research - Independently conduct research and analyses on strategic growth topics, such as new market entries, competitive landscapes, and pricing.
- M&A & project support - Support the team on M&A transactions and strategic programs, from preparing materials to tracking workstreams and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Business cases & financial analysis - Contribute to business cases and financial models that underpin strategic decisions.
- Executive communication - Help prepare presentations and decision documents for the CEO, the executive leadership team, and shareholders.
- Program management - Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of cross-functional strategic initiatives, including structured documentation and follow-up.
- Team support - Support the team in its day-to-day work, from organizing meetings and workshops to maintaining trackers, templates, and team documentation.
- Team contribution - Actively contribute ideas and help us continuously improve how we work as a team.
- Educational background - Currently enrolled in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Genuine interest in strategy and M&A - You are excited about corporate strategy, transactions, and growth topics, and want hands-on exposure early in your career.
- Analytical & financial skills - Strong analytical mindset with basic knowledge of financial models and their applications.
- Attention to detail - Deliver high-quality results with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Learning & growth mindset - Eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges, also in high-pressure situations.
- Communication & collaboration - Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills to work effectively across teams; fluent English (working language), German is a plus.
- Technical proficiency - Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint; familiar with other Microsoft Office applications.
