About the role
As a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), you will be a key contributor to our R&D activities, supporting the development, verification, and quality of innovative biological assays and technologies. You will independently perform laboratory experiments, document and analyze results, and ensure high-quality standards in a modern, interdisciplinary research environment.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Perform verification and validation experiments for R&D and product development
Analyze and document experiments in accordance with GLP and internal quality standards
Apply biological and biochemical techniques including ELISA, Western blotting, FPLC, IF (ICC, IHC), FISH, RNA/protein co-detection assays, NGS, CRISPR-based gene editing and screening, single-cell analysis, cytometry/FACS, and spatial biology
The essential requirements of the job include:
BSc degree or equivalent in biology or a related life-science field or completed training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA) or equivalent qualification
Several years of hands-on experience with biological and/or biochemical laboratory methods
Fluency in German and English (both at working proficiency level)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Performing image-based assays using advanced microscopy platforms (e.g. Confocal and light-sheet microscopy)
Working with diverse sample types including tissue sections, liquid biopsies, organoids/3D cell cultures, and biological model systems
