We actively drive AI transformation as part of BMW Group IT. Our team of strategists, architects, and developers designs innovative data and AI platforms and implements projects that create tangible value for customers and the organisation.
What awaits you?
- Design, development, training, validation, and continuous optimisation of ML models for production-grade automotive use cases, covering the full lifecycle from initial prototype to long-term operation.
- Hands-on work with large-scale, heterogeneous engineering, vehicle, and business data, transforming complex data landscapes into robust, high-performing models.
- End-to-end ownership of model performance, robustness, explainability, and lifecycle management in real-world business environments.
- Deployment of models into productive systems, including operational monitoring and iterative improvement based on real-world feedback and performance metrics.
- Close collaboration with data stewards, platform engineers, and solution architects to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant AI solutions.
- Active contribution to lighthouse use cases and to the establishment of best practices and standards for industrial-grade AI development at BMW.
What should you bring along?
- A university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Mathematics, Physics, or comparable qualifications.
- At least five years of professional experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML models in a business or industrial setting.
- Proven success in bringing models from research or prototype stage into productive, value-generating operations. Experienced in working within agile, cross-functional teams with a strong sense of ownership and delivery focus.
- Strong expertise in modern ML methods (e.g., deep learning, time series, NLP, multimodal models) and their practical limitations.
- Hands-on experience with Python-based ML stacks and production environments (training, inference, monitoring).
- A solid understanding of data quality, bias, robustness, and compliance requirements for enterprise AI systems.
- Very good written and spoken English skills. Knowledge of German, both written and spoken, is an advantage.
