The Portfolio Leader is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and maintenance of Pall’s filtration and separation product portfolio for the food and beverage industry. Leading a team of product managers, the Portfolio Leader ensures that the products we build are valuable to our customers and meet the company’s business objectives. The Leader must possess, and continually develop, an understanding of customer needs and requirements, and stay abreast of the dynamics in the food and beverage market space to define the recommended Pall products, marketing plan, positioning, training and sales tools.

This position is part of the Food & Beverage Business Unit and will be located on site at a Pall facility.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Use market trends and the competitive situation to identify new business opportunities for profitable portfolio growth prioritizing a funnel of new product ideas.
  • Lead a team of product managers responsible for product life cycle management, including managing product pricing and quality, continuously improving position and streamlining our offering to drive portfolio profitability.
  • Work cross-functionally to assure sufficient product supply for the business unit including defining products within the portfolio that are Available off-the-shelf or make-to-order according to market requested lead times.
  • Work closely with R&D colleagues to continuously launch value-added products that comply with the dynamic food and beverage regulatory requirements. Sponsor projects ensuring each has clear business case including definition of product specifications, voice of customer and identification of beta test sites to ensure development of the right products.  Work with regional marketing and sales to develop positioning, promotion, sales tools and training to ensure successful product launches and achievement of revenue targets. 
  • Work with Quality/Regulatory and Product Engineering to ensure the portfolio meets food contact and other regulatory requirements. Manage process for communicating product notifications with sales team as appropriate.
  • Work with global training manager to develop programs to design, deliver, and guide the requirements for training programs for customers, sales staff, and distributors on our positions and products.
  • Actively track and analyze global sales growth, margin and issues for product portfolio providing regular reports on performance.

The essential requirements of the job include;

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or Marketing.
  • Able to develop and implement a product strategy as typically acquired through multiple years or more in a product management position.
  • Ability to motivate and guide team to achieve company goals gained through experiences in a leadership position. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to advocate for Pall’s portfolio within the market with customers, sales and marketing peers, distributors and management. Ability to lead presentations and/or trainings.
  • Freedom to travel with minimal advance notice and be available for travel of reasonable duration (1-2 weeks), in conjunction with the travel requirements (estimated at up to 30%).
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, powerpoint and spreadsheets.
  • Miscellaneous: Holds a current driver’s license, has a passport and prepared to travel abroad.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with food and beverage processing equipment and/or filtration preferred.
  • While English is a must, proficiency in other languages like German, French or Spanish would be a plus.
