Position Overview

Porsche Engineering Services North America, Inc. (PEUS) will have its operational base at the Porsche Experience Center, LA in Carson, California near Los Angeles. The mission of this newly formed team will be to take on engineering evaluation of market-specific vehicle functions and digital services, including connectivity and infotainment.The Complete Vehicle Technical Writer is responsible for documenting complaints, malfunctions, findings, or anomalies arising from the Complete Vehicle Verification and Validation in the metropolitan area of California on public roads, according to Porsche’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies. The vehicles descend from Porsche’s development process and reflect the current quality and development levels of the corresponding model ranges. As the vehicles mature, it is necessary to have the vehicles
updated, especially with regards to the software and hardware, in order to ensure that any findings and/or complaints occurred are arising from the latest, released versions and are thus relevant. The main task is the technical documentation and communication of testing results into Porsche’s proprietary systems and to responsible project coordinators and engineers. This also includes supporting engineers with preanalysis of complaints, malfunctions, findings or anomalies.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Technical documentation and communication of anomalies, complaints, findings, analysis results and performed tests/activities• Operational coordination and performance of complaint management in an interfacing function to the cross-departmental stakeholders at PAG and PEG
• Documentation and tracking of the latest versions of software/hardware implemented on various developmental vehicle models
• Monitor vehicle quality by analyzing development maturity level based on various sensors, including repetitive failures/findings reported by market-specific drivers
• Pre-analysis of traces and fault memories (consolidated measurement data) with Porsche’s proprietary testing systems and software in cooperation with PAG and PEG Departments to support responsible development engineers
• Perform root cause analysis utilizing tools and software, such as ETAS Measure Data Analyzer and other data acquisition means
• Plausibility check of the results of the measurement data analysis from the vehicle and implementation of validation tests
• Collaborate with PAG and PEG Departments responsible for Complete Vehicle Verification and Validation to facilitate and expedite countermeasure development and validation
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
• Minimum requirement is a certification as an automotive service-technician
• One+ year of work experience in fields related to automotive technologies
• Undergraduate studies in Automotive Engineering can be used toward experience requirements
• Proficient knowledge of complete vehicle systems and automotive technologies
• Experience reading and interpreting automotive related documentation
• Experience writing technical user-facing documentation
• Basic knowledge of associated diagnostic tools to analyze problems in vehicles
• Proficient analytical skills and sharp attention to detail for technical documentation purposes
• Competent with data analysis and engineering evaluations
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Passionate about vehicles and the latest automotive technologies
Preferred Qualifications include:
• Graduate Degree in Automotive Engineering
• Experience with Porsche’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies is a plus, such as PIDT, PUDiS, PPN, FAZIT, Cluu, etc.
• Ideal candidates are tenacious, persistent, well-organized, process oriented and flexible adapting to various forms of challenges
• Fluent German speaking and prior experience with the German culture is a plus

Schedule/Shift: regular business hours
The pay range for this role is $29 to $39 per hour. However, it is important to note that at Porsche compensation range is dependent on geographic location. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skillset. Porsche reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness.

Physical Requirements
• Comfortable with physical exertion for 3 - 5 hour intervals
• Comfortable sitting, standing and walking for 3 - 5 hour intervals
• Ability to travel long distances in aircraft or via automobile (5+ hours)
• This job operates in an automotive workshop and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, automotive parts at operational temperature and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud.
