Information technology accompanies the route of every GLS parcel: a parcel from a grandma in Hamburg to her grandson in Sicily. Entire goods delivered from manufacturers to retailers. Whether it is parcel routing or a mobile app - there is always highly developed IT behind it. GLS IT is responsible for the tools and systems involved. Our employees organize the IT for more than 840 million parcels in 41 country subsidiaries and partners at over 1600 locations.
We are looking for a self-driven Full Stack Developer to join an interesting multi-project environment working with backend technologies based on Java and web frontend technologies based on JavaScript/TypeScript, which will make you an important IT team member in our company.
What can you expect with us?
- As the tech lead of the team, you take responsibility for the development and operation of your innovative products
- The team acts with maximum independence with full focus on dynamic tour planning
- You take an agile, iterative, and incremental approach: this includes carrying out proof of concepts (POC) for new features and technologies and evaluating the potential benefits
- You work in an interdisciplinary manner with the specialist departments and customers
- As part of DevOps, you will be closely involved in all stages of development from design to operation
- You realize product ideas based on state-of-the-art technologies
- This includes the implementation of microservices in the cloud and the use of artificial intelligence
- Together with our customers and other international teams, you will create real value, drive digitalization, and modernize the GLS IT landscape
What do you bring to the table?
- Computer science degree or equivalent
- Several years of experience as software engineer, ideally in the field of logistics
- Several years of experience with Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate
- Several years of experience with Angular and HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
- Excellent knowledge of debugging practices and techniques
- Experience working with FIGMA is a Plus
- Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda), Docker and Kubernetes
- Good time management skills
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and impact on company' success
- Team Player
- Fluent English skills
- German skills are a plus
