Cloud Developer (m/f/d)

The vision and mission of our Global Data Assets department is to transform the Bayer Enabling Functions (cross divisional functions like Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics, HR, Procurement, etc.) to become more insights- and data-driven in their decision making by delivering the required data foundation and FAIR data assets. Our team Data Provisioning ensures that our customers can use the data assets through state-of-the-art interface technologies from APIs to streaming with Kafka. In that space we want to deliver efficient, robust, and reusable solutions for various demands. Our team creates value through digital solutions with the latest cloud technology in a challenging environment close to business functions. YOUR TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Your task is to deliver state-of-the-art interfaces for the consumers of our data assets
  • Find the best solution options together with our solution architects for the different demands
  • Think through the solution options - provide advantages and disadvantages as a decision help and provide recommendations based on your experience
  • Deliver the solution - hands-on implementation - also as part of a larger delivery team - based on architectural and solution patterns
  • Drive automation - wherever possible and feasible, you actively ensure that automation is in place to increase efficiency and quality (deployments, monitoring and remediation, etc.)
  • Ensure that Bayer architecture principals and coding guidelines are met - also in the work with external vendors
  • Work in an agile project style - regularly communicate status, blockers, opportunities
  • Shape the future - influence our overall strategy with your technical know-how

WHO YOU ARE

  • University degree in IT or similar education or experience
  • Expert knowledge in Azure Cloud (general concepts including infrastructure as code, ideally in data platform tools like Azure or AWS Data Lake, Databricks, Spark)
  • Expert knowledge in coding in Python or similar and related work with code repositories like GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, etc.
  • Ideally, API coding experience including authentication and authorization technologies (e.g., HTTP/REST, GraphQL, gRPC, OIDC, OAuth2)
  • Experience with working in agile mode including appropriate communication skills
  • Self-motivation to constantly learn new technology stacks or programming languages
  • High level of English language skills
