Solution Architect Data Provisioning (m/f/d)

The vision and mission of our Global Data Assets department is to transform the Bayer Enabling Functions (cross-divisional functions like Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics, HR, Procurement, etc.) to become more insight- and data-driven in their decision-making by delivering the required data foundation and FAIR data assets. Our Data Provisioning team ensures that our customers can use the data assets through state-of-the-art interface technologies, from APIs to streaming with Kafka. In that space we want to deliver efficient, robust, and reusable solutions to various demands. Our team creates value through digital solutions with the latest cloud technology in a challenging environment close to our business functions.   • Define and develop the Data Provisioning architecture and technical solution portfolio
  • Create and evaluate technical solution options for data demands, considering the entire Bayer Enterprise IT landscape (technology, security, compliance)
  • Hands-on implementation with end-to-end delivery in mind - for Data Provisioning platforms as well as development of project solutions
  • Actively align the strategic concepts and solutions with relevant stakeholders like other Capability teams, Enterprise Architecture, etc.
  • Steer implementation services provided by external vendors
  • Drive automation - wherever possible and feasible, propose and realize scripting, automated deployments, automated monitoring, and remediation, etc.
  • Communication to stakeholders on progress or issues affecting end-to-end solution delivery


  • University degree in IT or similar education or experience
  • Expert knowledge about Cloud and Data Architecture Platforms (Azure, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, data lakes, data warehouses, APIs, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge about coding in Python or similar and about working with code repositories (e.g., GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to actively structure complex environments and keep focused on important next steps
  • Highly self-motivated to continuously educate yourself about data provisioning technologies (e.g., API, ETL, etc.) and other teams' technologies (e.g., Cloud Data Platforms, etc.)
  • Self-motivated to also understand the Bayer IT landscape beyond technology (e.g., business processes, compliance regulations, etc.)
  • Execute responsibilities with knowledge, accuracy, persistence, resilience, and creativity when working both independently and collaboratively
  • High level of English language skills
