Regulatory Affairs Expert - European Chemical Regulations (all genders)

Your role: As a (Senior) Regulatory Affairs Expert in the area of European Chemical Regulation Management, you are responsible for the strategic and operational implementation of different aspects of European Chemical Regulations. You lead international, cross-functional, and cross-sectorial projects to actively drive implementation and optimization of existing and upcoming regulatory requirements. You are responsible for the strategic and operational implementation of processes under EU REACH and REACH-like regulations. Based on your professional education and experience you are used to address complex regulatory topics and questions. This is including all aspects of REACH (Registrations, Evaluations, Authorizations and Restrictions Projects) as well as different aspects of identification and communication of Substances of Very High Concern. In your day-to-day business you will be accountable to ensure the License to Operate by taking responsibility for registration activities for multiple substances and our affiliates. You will also support different internal projects aligned with the upper management. With your mentality to think out of the box you drive digitalization activities and process improvement initiatives. Therefore, you interact closely with different stakeholders like Product Management, Procurement, Operations, and the digital transformation organization. Based on your sound regulatory experience you will represent our company in industry associations, working groups and conferences to increase awareness about the essential applications within the Life Science Industry.

Who you are:

  • Master in Natural Sciences, preferable chemistry, food chemistry or toxicology, PhD preferred
  • Min. 4 years of profound experience and expertise in the area of REACH regulation as well as other related European Chemical Regulations (e.g. POP, PIC, RoHS Regulation).
  • Experience in dealing with relevant software such as e.g. IUCLID, SAP EHS, SAP SVT module
  • In-depth experience in complex regulatory substance characterization/ description would be an asset.
  • Experienced in the defense of substances in regulatory processes as well as in working with industry associations and/or authorities.
  • Very good project management, analytical and IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills (very good command of English; German will be an advantage)
  • Your competencies are purposeful, result- and future-oriented,
  • Comfortable working in highly complex environment
