How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic SEND staff to join a well-established and supportive Secondary school in the Nelson area.

    The role is full time, 5 days per week, and due to start in September 2026 and is ongoing.

    Position Details:

    Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant x 2

    Location: Nelson, Lancashire

    Start Date: September 2026 - Ongoing

    Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days per week

    Daily Rate: £90 – £100 per day (dependant on experience)

    About the Role:

    * Support learning activities under the general supervision and direction of the teacher.

    * Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.

    * May be required to undertake intimate/personal care duties, moving and handling, and supporting children with medical conditions and complex needs.

    * Support the use of ICT in learning activities.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    * Hold NVQ level 2 or above qualification –appropriate to the post (or equivalent).

    * Hold Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.

    * Have experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age and working in a relevant classroom/service environment.

    * Have knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage.

    * Have experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.

    * Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people.

    * Provide details of last 2 latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history.

    * Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration.

    * Be willing to complete a face to face registration and satisfy several checks.
