How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Conrad Consulting is delighted to be working with a highly respected property consultancy to recruit a Building Surveyor into their expanding Building Consultancy team.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join an established organisation delivering a broad range of projects and professional surveying services for public sector clients across Cambridgeshire. Working with education, healthcare, local authority, and wider public sector organisations, you will be involved in the successful delivery of projects that make a genuine impact on local communities.

    The role offers a varied workload encompassing both project and professional building surveying services, with responsibility for managing schemes ranging from maintenance and refurbishment projects through to larger capital improvement programmes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Delivering a range of building surveying instructions for public sector clients across Cambridgeshire.

    Managing refurbishment, improvement, and maintenance projects from inception through to completion.

    Preparing specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation.

    Undertaking contract administration duties and managing project delivery on site.

    Carrying out condition surveys, defect analysis, and preparing technical reports.

    Supporting planned maintenance programmes and asset management initiatives.

    Building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse public sector client base.

    Requirements

    Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.

    Previous experience within a Building Surveying role.

    Previous experience of undertaking condition surveys.

    Knowledge of project delivery and contract administration.

    Strong technical reporting and communication skills.

    Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
