A well-loved and fast-paced food destination in St John’s Wood, is seeking a skilled and highly organised Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.
This is a hands-on role balancing both production and service, ideal for a strong leader who can manage people effectively while maintaining high standards in a busy environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will oversee both daily production and service, ensuring smooth kitchen operations from prep through to service. This position requires someone who leads from the front, thrives under pressure, and keeps the team focused and motivated.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen team across production and service
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and speed of output
- Oversee prep schedules and service readiness
- Run service when required, maintaining calm and control during busy periods
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
- Train, develop, and motivate team members
- Support stock control, ordering, and waste management
About You
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous ready to step up
- An excellent people manager with confidence leading a team
- Comfortable managing both high-volume production and live service
- Hands-on, proactive, and highly organised
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety
- Calm, focused, and solution-driven under pressure
