How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Please note that only current university students who are required to complete a placement year as part of their course are eligible for this placement opportunity.


    Victoria Beckham Ltd offers a selection of work placement opportunities for those currently studying at university and looking to gain experience in the Fashion Industry. The placements we offer provide a varied and tangible learning experience that can be applied to roles in the future and support the university learning experience.


    Location: Hammersmith, London

    Placement: 12-month placement with an anticipated start date of June 2026


    Role Overview:

    To support the fabric team in the day to day running and organisation of the department


    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for booking in and quality checking delivered fabric rolls into the atelier, cutting tirelles and ensuring the fabrics are labelled accurately, updating relevant databases accordingly.
    • Assisting the Fabric Buyer to ensure that that the fabric rails, fabric boards and fabric charts are up to date with relevant information and making sure this information is accurate.
    • Communicating professionally with suppliers to request missing information such as; stock, prices and colour cards.
    • Communicating with suppliers when necessary ensuring fabric selections are being received in house in time for design meetings.
    • Assisting the team in sourcing and locating fabrics and developments in our internal fabric archive.
    • Creating and following all incoming and outgoing shipments and packages, liaising with couriers and suppliers when necessary.
    • Responsible for collecting parcels each morning and keeping track of incoming parcels.
    • Clearly communicating fabric deliveries to all departments alongside sending daily internal update emails.
    • Constantly maintaining the general organisation of the fabric department and fabric archive, including organisation of files, rails, boxes.
    • To support with the creation of swatch packs and fabric books for, sales and merchandising.



    Essential Skills & Requirements

    • Highly organised systematic and quick to adapt.
    • Good at multitasking.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Very efficient in Word, Excel.
    • Adaptable to Zedonk, PLM and accounting systems.
    • Experience in raw material purchasing would be an advantage.
    • Some textile knowledge essential.
