How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Fire & Safety Engineer (Smoke Ventilation Focus)

    London & M25 (Field-Based)
Up to £50,000 + Company Van + Overtime

    The Opportunity

We are working with a growing specialist in life safety and smoke ventilation systems, and they are looking for a Fire & Safety Engineer to join their team.

This is not your typical fire alarm role. This position is heavily focused on AOV, smoke extraction, and pressurisation systems across commercial and residential projects.

If you have experience in smoke control systems and want to join a company where your expertise is truly valued, this is a great move.

    What You will Be Doing

Service, maintenance, and fault finding on:
    AOV systems (Automatic Opening Vents)
    Smoke extraction & pressurisation systems
Fire dampers, fire curtains, and ventilation systems
Carrying out PPM and reactive works
Testing systems in line with fire strategy (cause & effect)
Working on control panels and system diagnostics
Completing reports and ensuring compliance with regulations

    What We are Looking For

Strong experience with smoke ventilation / AOV systems (essential)
Background in fire safety, ventilation, or life safety systems
Experience with systems such as Colt, SE Controls, Velux, Geze, or similar
Ability to work independently in a field-based role
Good understanding of compliance and safety standards
    Full UK driving licence

    Desirable (but not essential)

Experience with fire alarms or emergency lighting
Knowledge of BS9991 / smoke control regulations
    ECS / CSCS card

    What is On Offer

Salary up to £50,000 (depending on experience)
    Company van + fuel
    Overtime available
    Stable, long-term opportunity
    Supportive team and growing business

    Why Apply?

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to specialise or continue growing in smoke ventilation systems, rather than being stuck in a general fire & security role.
