How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant

    Location: Sevenoaks
    Salary: £93 - £105 per day
    Start date: Immediately
    Contract: Full-time

Are you passionate about supporting children with complex needs and helping them achieve their full potential?

If so, GSL Education Kent would love to hear from you! We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Sevenoaks. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities, ensuring they receive tailored support to thrive academically and socially.

The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment, where every student is encouraged to develop independence, confidence, and life skills through personalised learning approaches. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping pupils with learning difficulties achieve their potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD/SEN, assisting with mobility, communication, and personal care where needed.
Support the teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
Promote a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will:

Have experience working with SEN/PMLD (preferred).
Possess the Right to Work in the UK.
Have an Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
Demonstrate patience, adaptability, and resilience when supporting pupils with complex needs.
    GSL Education offers:

    Excellent daily rates.
Direct links to specialist schools in Kent.
Access to SEND-specific training and professional development.
A dedicated consultant to guide you through the process.
Please note: This SEN Teaching Assistant role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must satisfy all safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS.

GSL Education is an ethical, independent recruitment agency serving schools across Kent. All advertised roles are for real vacancies.
