How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: New Business Sales Executive - Durham

    Reporting to: Durham Managing Director

    Role Overview

    The New Business Sales Executive is responsible for proactively identifying, targeting, and acquiring new business opportunities. This role is highly target-driven and focused on building a strong sales pipeline through outbound activity and closing new deals.

    New Business Sales Executives Key Responsibilities:

    * Prospect and generate new leads via cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, and networking

    * Identify decision-makers and build relationships with potential clients

    * Qualify leads and convert them into sales opportunities

    * Deliver sales pitches, presentations, and product demonstrations

    * Negotiate terms and close new business deals

    * Maintain an active and accurate pipeline using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)

    * Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets

    * Collaborate with marketing for lead generation campaigns

    * Stay informed on market trends and competitor offerings

    Key Skills & Competencies

    * Strong cold-calling and outbound sales skills

    * Resilience and persistence (comfortable with rejection)

    * Excellent communication and persuasion skills

    * Highly self-motivated and target-driven

    * Strong negotiation and closing ability

    * Ability to quickly build rapport with prospects

    * Time management and pipeline discipline

    The New Business Sales Excecutive will have:

    * Proven experience in a new business / hunter sales role

    * Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

    * Experience in B2B sales (often preferred)

    * Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools

    * Degree not always essential; results matter more

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    * Number of outbound calls/emails per week

    * New leads generated

    * Meetings booked

    * Conversion rate (lead → customer)

    * Revenue from new business

    * Pipeline value and activity levels

    Salary

    * £35,000 – £50,000 base

    * Commission structure (OTE £55k–£65k)
