How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Intermediate HVAC Design Engineer - Job Overview

    Intermediate Design Engineer required to be based at our client's London office. The company is a well-established leader in the HVAC sector, operating from six regional offices across the UK and experiencing consistent growth over the past 20 years. They provide a full turnkey service, covering design, installation, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of a wide range of HVAC systems.

    In this role, the Design Engineer will be responsible for developing design solutions for HVAC and decarbonisation projects, taking them from initial concept through to construction. Most projects focus on replacing existing assets within occupied environments.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare detailed calculations, drawings & specifications
    Develop layouts, schematics and equipment schedules
    Contribute to RIBA stage 2-4 deliverables
    Undertake energy audits and ROI analysis
    Compile and present costed design proposals to clients
    Provide guidance to graduate engineers & junior design engineers in the team

    Intermediate HVAC Design Engineer - Job Requirements

    3-5 years' building services/HVAC design experience.
    Proficient with calculations and design software
    Familiarity with CIBSE, ASHRAE and UK Building Regulations
    Strong technical writing and reporting ability
