About the role
Markets sales in Australia is responsible for the sale of risk management products to the Wholesale Banking and Rural customers of Rabobank Australia and New Zealand.
The Markets Division is a pillar of Global Wholesale Product Clients (GWPC) within Wholesale & Rural (WR). Markets houses all of Rabobank's financial markets related activities. The mission of Markets is to provide first class financial markets solutions, manage risk and add value to its stakeholders in a sustainable way.
The purpose of CRTM is to provide risk management solutions (through the use of risk management derivative products and techniques) for the Wholesale customers of Rabobank Australia and New Zealand. It focuses on providing innovative and professional financial services (including Interest Rate, Foreign Exchange and Commodity based derivative products to enable the Bank's clients to achieve their financial goals. CRTM Australia is part of global CRTM sales team.
Key responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Manage a portfolio of 20 to 25 wholesale customers at CFO and Treasurer level, working closely with the relationship managers in the coverage of the customers to execute FX, Money Markets, Interest Rate, Commodity and Debt Capital Markets related complex hedge instruments.
- Focus will be on growing the E-solutions execution and E-orders and quickly reduce the manual execution of small FX deals < USD 2 mio notional, This is currently 98% of deal flow.
- Translate market movements into transactional (day-to-day flow) and strategic (long term) client solutions by taking a pro-active approach to sales and building a pipeline of transactions and focussing on high value opportunities. This should be evidenced by ensuring the CRM tool (Clientlink) is fully utilised such that the way of working (as defined in the Value Contract between product and relationship owners) is adhered to.
- Initiate and maintain contact with the local market peers in order to obtain insight in market trends that are relevant to the wholesale customer portfolio.
- Leverage the global network (knowledge and people) to ensure that the wholesale customers have the benefit of the latest global markets developments, trends, and product offerings at all times.
- Stakeholder management for especially Wholesale key relationships such as: Wholesale executive, Co-head of Corporate banking, RMs, Credit, Risk, global markets CRTM specialist.
To be successful, you will have:
- Significant prior experience in a similar role, ideally with a strong sales experience with international clients within financial markets
- In depth knowledge of relevant financial products and technical competence
- Strong commercial skills ad excellent market awareness across commodity, interest rate and FX markets
- Degree qualified in a banking related discipline
- RG146 compliant and AFMA Accreditation
