Job opportunity: Technician/Software Developer (parttime/ 24 hrs/wk)

This job is a combination of a Technician with Software Developer skills. You are responsible for
laboratory-based tasks, execute experiments which include sample handling, recording and analyzing results whilst adhering to relevant procedures and health and safety guidelines all according to company quality standards. You are contributing and improving, reviewing and developing our LIMS in collaboration with our Senior Software Developer.
The Technician/Software Developer reports to the Lab Manager.
Prepare and execute experiments including documentation to produce reliable and accurate data
Prepare reagents, work with and handle (diagnostic) samples
Participate in- and execute general laboratory tasks
Analyze experiments and prepare data reports under the supervision of Project Managers
Ensure the lab is well stocked and resourced
To develop, write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and related documents, in cooperation with Project Managers
Keeping up to date with technical developments
Take care of all related administrative tasks where necessary

Maintain and act as back-up for our LIMS system (in collaboration with our senior Software Developer).
Minimal Bachelor Degree in life science or molecular biology and preferably 2 years working experience
Good knowledge of two service platforms and fair knowledge of a third platform such as Gene Expression, DNA sequencing or Next Generation Sequencing
Knowledge and experience with Linux and Windows
Language skills: excellent knowledge of Dutch and English both in word and writing
Accurate and quality aware, analytical, flexible, team player, pro-active, able to work under pressure
