As Mechatronics Development Engineer Industrial Equipment you are part of a small industrial equipment development team within the Innovations Department. The department manages the development, testing and integration of complex, cutting-edge equipment and machinery for the offshore fleet's manufacturing process. These Fit-for-purpose R&D projects can be either initiated by the internal drive to optimize and improve a wide range of manufacturing and production processes or to find a solution for specific offshore pipelaying and/or subsea construction project issues.
As Mechatronics Development Engineer Industrial Equipment you will be involved from the start of the project, analyzing and defining the requirements with your (internal) clients, setting up the project approach and milestones and investigating and defining the solution direction. You act as the Project Engineer in running the project, involving colleague Engineers and Designers in the Engineering process, communicating with all stakeholders and selecting possible vendors and suppliers. At the same time you will be very much hands-on involved in creating the new equipment solution, through the design engineering stages, the prototype testing, all the way to the commissioning and start-up of the equipment or machinery on-board the offshore vessels.
