Accounting Framework Specialist

Come and see things a little differently with us. You have 5+ years with increased responsibility in accounting or finance related field, preferably in a multinational retail organization. You are a professionally qualified accountant ACA/ACCA or local equivalent with strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP or have gained equivalent experience in the business. You communicate confidently in English (both spoken and written). You have a good understanding of accounting and financial reporting rules, standards and manuals, along with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You understand the measurement, processing and communication of financial information regarding economic entities, which aims to document the organizations’ resource management. You have a good understanding of how to plan and measure financial records in compliance with internal and external regulations, ensuring value for money in reaching business objectives and long term profitable growth. As a person you are eager to learn, pro-active, and a team player; you cope well with deadlines as well as meeting them and know how to prioritise your work. In other words, you are a passionate and hands on professional with a strong sense of urgency and a solution focused approach; you know how to structure information intake, absorb new knowledge and apply it the right way in a dynamic and complex work environment. You strive to meet quality standards and produce quality work products. You are an open minded team player, with good communication skills that help you to navigate through the different levels of the organization and build strong relationships. You enjoy working, collaborating and co-creating in a vibrant and changing multi-dimensional, multicultural and multinational environment. The Group Accounting team is part of the Group Financial Controlling matrix that leads the Financial Controlling Function by providing support to the three core-businesses of the Ingka Group: IKEA Retail, Ingka Centres and Ingka Investments. The Group Accounting Specialist will contribute by providing guidance on accounting topics to the countries, supporting a strong compliance framework and an effective governance, enabling entrepreneurship and safeguarding our people, customers and businesses. More specifically, this means you will: • Develop the accounting framework for Ingka group (based on business, legal and harmonisation needs) through the use of global and local accounting rules. • Guide the countries in securing the rules are implemented in financial operations. • Keep track of changes in legal accounting and business requirements and propose changes to the accounting framework. • Maintain and develop accounting rules and work cross functionally to develop specific sub-processes. • Follow up the implementation of global and local frameworks to secure quality and timeliness of accounting and reporting processes. • As part of the global centre of expertise, share accounting knowledge within Ingka Group. • Support and maintain a connection with and between core areas, business owners, group functions and process teams within the Ingka Group. • Maintain cross-organisational readiness and continued business growth in terms of competence, performance and succession through enabling an end-to-end approach.
