Global Program Manager - Commercial Excellence


Within BV we aim to provide our guests with the widest choice of experiences at the best possible prices. Partner Services (PS) focuses on providing a relevant partner base with the best offerings to our guests. In order to do so we engage with existing and future partners to realize this goal. The aim of this role is to support this strategy, within the Commercial Excellence team, part of Partner Services.

As a Global Commercial Excellence Manager Strategy & Development, you will work for Partner Services (“PS”) on all kinds of strategic questions. You set the long term strategy and positioning for all PS Channels and set up and innovate the commercial operating model across channels to ensure we meet cost effective BU strategy and targets. You define the governance with BU’s how to work together and work with the business unit on agreed strategic programs. Partner Services channels are Partner Marketing and Local offices. Internal clients within the BU’s are e.g. business unit segments core/home/chains accommodations, Central product/Market place, Attractions, Instay, business bookers, but also product teams.

The main responsibility of this role is run cross functional / department large scale Commercial Excellence programs (+6 months with multiple projects attached). Stakeholder management is a critical skill to drive successful programs which involves coordinating at director level with Business Units, Product teams, Business Functions, Marketing, Regional Offices, etc. Commercial Excellence programs involve strategic Partner Services projects, target operating model projects, New Services & business integrations, Governance and involves multiple stakeholders.

This is done through applying program management and efficient, relevant, action oriented and innovative tailor-made recommendations to our local operations and global stakeholders which results in tangible commercial improvements. You will work largely within our department as well as with people of diverse functional backgrounds (e.g. LPS, Digital Partner Experience, BU Accommodation, other BUs, Central Product, HR, etc).

A high level of leadership, stakeholder management, ownership, management experience and sound business knowledge is mandatory. Expect to interact daily with roles across the organisation, from business units, local teams to support teams and upper management.


  • Manage cross functional programs consisting of multiple functional workstreams
  • Stakeholder Management of a complex environment with many teams involved
  • Coach and manage project managers to ensure proper project management
  • Co-develop strategic initiatives to improve performance of our channels (LPS, DPE)
  • Drive large scale operating model change projects to improve channel performance (e.g. projects related to roles, target setting, organization structure, tooling, productivity, reporting)
  • Identify commercial and operational improvements by collecting information, generating insights and recommendations
  • Ensure Business Unit - Business Function aligned approach to drive and execute strategic programs to improve Partner performance
  • Explore and drive commercial initiatives coming from Product, Region and own Analyses to increase partner engagement and experience
  • Coordinate with relevant global & regional teams to ensure adequate implementation, communication, training & tracking of successful Commercial Excellence projects


  • A proven track record in Program management – coordination and ownership of programs, following them through from start to finish (preferably 5+ years of project management experience & 1-2 years of program management)
  • Experience with experimental set-up is preferred (minimum knowledge of statistics required)
  • Highly organised, pragmatic and results-focused; driven to manage projects/programs full cycle
  • Strong commercial focus and prioritization skills
  • Target Operating model development / project management is desired
  • Translate business needs into business opportunities which can be executed in small steps, and prioritize them according to business value and impact
  • Data driven, customer focused, proactive, creative and innovative
  • Able to work well independently and within a team;
  • Building relationships and stakeholder management across different departments
