In this role, you have the opportunity to

As a Function Development Engineer, you will define and develop new functions providing competitive advantage to our Female Beauty propositions. You will work independently and deliver meaningful innovations to satisfy consumer as well as business needs. Your challenge will be to balance out technology opportunities with offering significance for the users, commercial needs and time to market.

You are responsible for

  • Concept and function development within multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Developing new and optimizing existing product concepts based on consumer needs
  • Together with your project lead translating consumer and business needs into product propositions given your technical input as well as in conjunction with marketing, consumer research and procurement organization
  • Deliver burden of proof for work packages in projects according to agreed time, quality and cost
  • Own work stream managing own planning as well as interfaces towards other functions, inputs and outputs
  • Scout technologies and assess the feasibility of applications
  • Give technology and creative ideas input for roadmaps on future product platforms.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor / Master degree in technical domain, e.g. Mechanical, Physics, Mechatronics
  • Proven track record in consumer product development for or one complete product development cycle (pre-development and realization)
  • Proven track record of independent working inside the team on specific module or function, delivering own results to the project lead, lead engineer or architect
  • Ability to sketch designs and make simplified constructions in CAD that you can further translate it into technical descriptions
  • You can proof your all-round skills: setting up hypotheses, making own design, operating own 3d printing machines, performing verification testing of own designs
  • ‘Hands-on’ approach and skills to tinker own functional prototypes in the lab
  • Design for Experiments for own work stream
  • Drive for quality yet with pragmatic and ‘can do’ positive approach to a dynamic environment
  • Good communication skills in English both verbally and written
  • Influencing skills
  • A great deal of self-discipline and perseverance to deliver either solo or in teams
