The internship assignment

Tesla is seeking for an intern to work directly for the Manager of Indirect EMEA Purchasing. The intern will assist Assembly, Service, IT, Marketing, Logistics and Supercharger development in all purchasing related activities across Europe, Middle East and Africa. You will be the central point of contact for all purchasing related queries internally. You will learn to create Vendors, Purchase Orders, perform eProcurement support and respond to supply shortages. Within the team you assist to make sure that the purchasing process is as smooth as possible. The EMEA Purchasing team is small and flexible, so the opportunity to make changes and improvements is considerable as well as the likely involvement in project work during the assignment.

Learning Goals & Tasks

·Support the team governance manager with analysis of spend data for assigned commodities

·Support the eProcurement process and make sure all operational purchasing orders and processes run smoothly

·Working next to the Global Supply Managers in providing analysis of existing requirements and pricing to ensure the most cost-effective options

·Analyze historical spend as well as forecast spend and savings by commodity/business

·Reviewing, analyzing and clarifying quote packages from suppliers

·Identifying and negotiate commercial cost reduction opportunities

·Developing solid understanding of cost drivers

·In case you need to create a University Thesis or Research document during your internship, please be aware you should work on this next to your operational workload so mostly during your own available time


·Fluency in English

·Preferably studying a relevant field like Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance or Manufacturing/Process Engineering

·Capable of working in a fast paced and always changing environment

·Proactive work mentality and attitude

·The ability to keep overview and improve processes

·Analytical mindset and problem-solving oriented

·A strong team player
