Dow  has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join our Technical Expertise and Support (TES) Organization to be located in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.   TES is a multicultural and international organization at Terneuzen, which enables you to apply your technical knowledge while learning from different cultures. Various teams bring the most innovative ideas and that's exactly what we are looking for: highly motivated individuals who enjoys problem solving and optimizing manufacturing operations by thinking out of the box.    The Reliability Engineer has primary responsibility for continued implementation of the Reliability Work Process activities. The candidate will be responsible for all the tasks in the Reliability Work Process including:
  • Develop and implement reliability strategy and equipment reliability strategies.
  • Measuring and communicating the results of the Reliability Process.
  • Identifying and resolving the top reliability opportunities based on maintenance cost and asset utilization.
  • Completing risk and reliability assessments or critical equipment and developing solutions to increase reliability.
  • Use Reliability Engineering principles (eg Weibull, Root Cause Investigation, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to increase reliability.
  • Coordinating a predictive / preventative maintenance strategy for the plants.
  • Networking with Business Tech Centers / Maintenance Tech Center / Global Discipline Teams as appropriate.
  • Facilitating and leading the root cause investigation process.
  • Creating the spare parts strategy for the given plant based on risk assessments.
  • Participating in maintenance / reliability reviews or new projects.
  • Decrease equipment failure losses in order to meet the site Product Supply Reliability improvement goals for the given year.
  • Provide advanced technical assistance to Operations and Maintenance personnel for acute and chronic issues as they arise.
  • Provide front end loading support for Turnarounds plant.
  • Assist in annual maintenance budget setting process.

  • A master's degree in Engineering is required, a  degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Maintenance, Operations or Engineering is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, technical, and leadership skills.
