Manpower is looking for a fulltime import en export employee / import en export medewerker luchtvracht, for our client at Schiphol.
Tasks & responsibilities
As an import en export employee in our Schiphol Office, you will be responsible for the end-to-end file handling of import and export cargo, ensuring data quality, on time delivery, profitability and problem handling. You will assist the management in optimising margin through optimal cargo-build up and route & allocation management
Your key responsibilities will be:

Handle pre-alerts from overseas offices
Coordination with origin teams on discrepancies between booked and actual flight details
Perform freight release once all pre-requisites have been made
Receive bookings and create files and House Airway bills in operational system(s) (client specific)
Receive shipment information from origin offices and build best possible master shipments. Provide loading instructions to subcontractor
Select carrier and routing as per office guidelines, place booking with airline
Issue all relevant (electronic) documentation
Arrange inland transport, that include coordination with shipper and transport service provider

Perform job costing, invoicing and handle incoming supplier invoices

Your wroking day
Each day starts at 8:30 at our Schiphol Office. You will be responsible for all file handling concerning import and export cargo. Each morning you will check the schedule for that day and make sure every task will be completed in time. You will work in a dynamic, fast paced work environment so you will have a broad array of tasks like: handling of pre alerts, building master shipments, arranging inland transport and invoicing.
After a refreshing lunch break you will recheck the schedule to see if everything is going according to plan. Because of your experience you will be able to come up with creative and working solutions to make sure all targets will be reached.
Accuracy is very important so throughout and at the end of the day you will process all required details and milestones in our operational systems. At 17:00 you will leave the office satisfied and ready for a new day.
We are looking for someone who:
has at least 2 years of experience in the industry (operational execution in freight forwarding, airfreight)
is proficient in English, knowledge of the Dutch language is preferred
has working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
has good communication skills
have knowledge of both operations systems (Kewill & MODS) is a pre-requisite
has a candidate demonstrating pro-activeness, that is service minded, is process-oriented, can work under pressure and is able to work accurately.
has a can-do mentality
is willing to work in shifts and able to demonstrate a high level of flexibility
has affinity with Airfreight operational systems (HAWB/Manifest/MAWB)
has licenses: minimum pre-requisite to operational work
lives preverably within a range of 30km from Schiphol (for example Haarlem, Amsterdam or Hoofddorp)
