STR Operations Development Program

Shell Trading & Supply is the principal trading and shipping business within Shell. The STR Operations Development Program (SoDP) is a two‑year traineeship that prepares trainees to become future commercial operators on a trading operations desk. During the program you will act as the first contact for ports worldwide, traders, customs officials and internal stakeholders.

• Setting up contracts with traders
• Deciding which claims are well founded or not
• Logistical planning for transportation

• Bachelor’s (HBO) or Master’s Degree with preferably some working experience and strong interest in supply chain, trading or oil & freight operations
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German and French is an advantage
• Good communication & analytical skills
• Resilient ability to plan activities and work with conflicting deadlines in line with business needs and policy guidelines
• Team player and self‑motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
• Multi‑tasking self‑starter capable of working independently after training
