Role Purpose:

 To develop and maintain an efficient, professional, and proactive "claims management" organization, processing claims on behalf of multiple DPDHL Business partners from the Benelux region. This role includes recovering claims from any liable DPDHL subcontractor, safeguarding DPDHL's P&L exposure, and managing a team of 11 dedicated claims specialists according to DPDHL leadership attributes.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement strategy to meet financial goals and support Business Partner success.
  • Translate Regional Strategy into local strategy and autonomously define and build the organization accordingly.
  • Independently drive the function, balancing resources and added value, and continuously find ways to improve the added value.
  • Negotiate and manage claims with all relevant external parties: DPDHL customers, subcontractors/carriers/providers, insurers, loss adjusters, and underwriters.
  • Handle claims on behalf of the DPDHL Group Insurer AIG by the delegated authority.
  • Establish effective relationships with key internal customers to include national and regional executives, directors, managers, and functional dealers.
  • Define, standardize, and execute the most effective and efficient claims handling procedures across different countries and divisions.
  • Pro-actively raise awareness of risk, identify trends, and (commercially) critical claims with Top Management by structural management reporting and frequent Business Review Meetings.
  • Provide advice based on claims data to the business partners on optimizing their internal processes relating to risk and claims handling.
  • Align and involve other relevant Business Partners departments to identify and develop claims limitation and recovery opportunities from subcontractors and limit the P&L exposure.

Finance & Projects:

 Participate and lead on dedicated projects of the Regional GBS IRM Claims Division development, such as standardization of process, Performance & Efficiency, CMS software etc.

People Management:

  • Lead a team of 11 specialized and dedicated claims handlers.
  • Be a role model in Leadership and adapt the DPDHL leadership attributes accordingly.
  • Maintain an efficient and effective team with an adequate level of resources, and safeguard continuity of the function.
  • Develop a culture of quality, service excellence, flexibility, and cost consciousness aligned with PMPO and FC Way philosophy.
  • Stimulate team spirit and focus on the personal development of all team members.
  • Develop IKOs/KPIs (Individual Key Objective / Key Performance Indicators) with team members and monitor individual performance.
  • Responsible for complying with my talent process.

Experience desired:

  • Experience in operating in a similar management role in a matrix organization, across variable expectations and business protocols.
  • Proven track record of cross border collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience with high level management experience.
  • Experience of building and developing teams.
  • Experience within a logistic company and claims handling.
