The position
In the role of Project Accountant, you will be part of the Finance & Control organisation and the Van Oord Offshore Business Unit. The Offshore Business Unit is realising an ambitious growth path with sustainable (e.g. hydrogen, CCUS) pipeline and dredging projects that Van Oord is executing all over the world.As a Project Accountant, you are responsible for the timely and complete delivery of various financial reports. You perform financial audits and analyses and liaise with our accounting and tax departments. For the benefit of correct reporting, you ensure that the various (project) administrations are always up-to-date and you are actively involved in the activities of external audits (interim and year-end).
In addition, we want to take big steps in the field of data management and digitalisation, in which you will also play an important role. In short, a broad and very dynamic position in an attractive organisation with a strong employer brand.
You will report to the Director Finance & Control Offshore and work at our office in Gorinchem.Your responsibilities
A wide range of financial and administrative activities in the reporting and analysis areas, including:
- Preparation of Cash Flow Forecasts, Debtor reports, any tax returns.
- Support with BU quarterly reports (in OneStream) and audits.
- Solicited and unsolicited execution of ad-hoc financial checks and analyses.
- Maintaining various administrations (in Unit4 Business World) via the FSSC.
- Implementing and improving business processes (Van Oord Way of Working).
- Contributing to digitisation and improved data quality within Van Oord.
You are a self-starter, proactive and precise. You know how to set priorities, plan and organise and have a flexible working attitude. You have strong communication and analytical skills and are an effective team player, enabling you to collaborate successfully with the other disciplines in the Business Unit. We appreciate it if you have strong affinity with data, digital and automation.
Furthermore, you bring along:
A completed MBO or HBO degree in Business Economics, Business Administration or similar.
3-5 years of working experience in a complex project environment.
Affinity with the Maritime and/or Civil sector.
Excellent command of the English language orally and in writing.
Communicative, accurate, result-oriented, independent and driven.
A healthy dose of humour.
