Data Intelligence expert

Business Intelligence Expert

Your insights and sharp analytic skills are valuable assets to our Client Service & Claim Handling Department. You will make all the difference for our clients because you help make decisions to modernise and improve our services.

This job offers you a monthly salary of €3,566- €5,095, depending on your knowledge and experience.

Your impact as a Business Intelligence Expert

You translate our operational and financial data into meaningful insights that create an impact on our clients and employees. Linking different data sources offers clear and new insights, new dashboards, tooling and advice for our management and internal clients.

The majority of your work focuses on new development areas within claim analytics, at a departmental level and throughout the value chain. Your task is to make this data insightful by translating it into visual and transparent business and operational reports. These reports can then be presented in dashboards and used to offer advice. As a professional expert, you can identify opportunities and share them actively with your colleagues and other departments.

You are ambitious and creative and – as part of the Finance & Analytics guild – a tremendous addition to the Centre of Expertise

Your responsibilities

  • Based on your assessment, you identify demand and develop analyses and dashboards that offer departments insight. We are talking about insight into digital client services' performances (including benefits tracking), the claim handling operational performance, and how they contribute commercially.
  • You help the Management Team interpret the results correctly and offer concrete recommendations that may improve the results.
  • You translate gathered data and information into action-oriented insights using data visualisation and data storytelling in Power BI.
  • With your knowledge of data, analytics and your expertise will contribute to departmental projects and within the Centre of Expertise in particular.
  • Apart from that, your interest in working with data literacy and data visualisation best practices also makes you a key asset for developing a more data-driven department.
Your colleagues

The Client Service & Claim Handling Department is where our passionate colleagues are ready to support our clients every day. It is the most extensive department within NN Retail P&C and Health Insurance, responsible for client contact (NNV/ING/OHRA) and claim handling (ING/OHRA). This department's core themes include the growth of client contact expertise, digitisation and benefiting from economies of scale. We bring knowledge and specialists together to further the digitisation of our services based on the client contact strategies of the different labels.

You will be part of our Finance & Analytics guild's Centre of Expertise. The Centre of Expertise is where we think about and work on strategic themes and competence development of employees and the organisation. We need people with expert knowledge who thoroughly enjoy collaborating across the different labels to achieve this.

The Finance & Analytics guild is the driving force behind more data-driven activities. We use experiments to develop data & analytics competencies, so our employees can work with such (upcoming) technologies and help our clients even better. Examples are AI, telematics, the Internet of Things, robotisation, and speech-to-text technologies.

Who you are

You are constantly on the lookout for new challenges and passionate about innovation and data improvement. With your analytical skills, natural curiosity, and a proactive and collaborating work ethos, you easily convince others to rally behind your ideas.

Your precise analyses, conclusions and advice contribute proactively to the department's ambitions: to improve and further the growth of Business Intelligence. You know all the ins and outs of data intelligence and how to translate data and analytics technology into concrete, practical solutions. You share your knowledge actively and freely and want to keep growing within your field of expertise. You also have demonstrable and successful experience in data and data visualisation, which you can tell us more about.

Other requirements:

  • A relevant and completed programme (academic/university of applied sciences level) in IT, Data, Business Information Systems, AI, Business Analytics, or econometrics plus a minimum of 3 years of work experience (previous experience in the finance sector is a plus)
  • Knowledge of data literacy, data discovery, data analysis, and data storytelling concepts, as well as design principles: silent legend, typography, use of colour, data visualisation, and interaction design
  • Affinity with the handling of damage claims with an insurance company, and you enjoy working in an operational environment
  • Effective communication skills for identifying demand, developing new solutions, and giving strategic advice
  • Broad experience with Power BI, SQL, DAX Power BI, complex macros, queries, Excel VBA and Python
Continue developing

It is important to us that you continue to develop yourself. We give you the space and the confidence to grow in your career and as a person. We help you with:

  • Plenty of training and learning opportunities in our Learning & Development Centre
  • A large (international) network of colleagues who are keen to share their knowledge with you
  • The autonomy to steer your own development path
Employee benefits

You are more than a colleague, and that is something we understand very well at NN. You have many roles in life, leading to different choices. At NN we give you the opportunity to select employee benefits that are important to you. For instance, buying additional leave days and flexible working hours. In consultation with your manager and your direct colleagues, you can work from any location at any time. You get enough flexibility to adjust your working pattern to your personal needs. Another part of the benefits are (currently online) sports lessons and a special allowance to set up your home office and internet use. In addition, you will receive:

  • Collective pension scheme with a personal contribution of only 6%
  • 194.4 hours of leave, based on a 36-hour week (that's 27 vacation days for a 5-day working week) and one Diversity Day
  • Holiday allowance and a 13th month paid with your monthly salary
  • NS Business Card 2nd class, giving you unlimited travel 7 days a week. Do you prefer to travel with your own transport? Then you can declare the kilometres travelled for business and commuting.

All NN colleagues work in a hybrid form: two days at the office and working from home (or anywhere else). The official location for this job is our fantastic office in Arnhem. This eye-catching building is close to the large arterial roads and various shopping centres which you can walk to during your break. There is an informal atmosphere in the office and to stay fit you can use our gym.

Will you be our new colleague?

We would like to invite you to come and have a cup of coffee or tea. Because we believe that your enthusiasm about this position will only increase during that conversation. So, what are you waiting for?
