Commercial Senior Consultant

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

As a Senior Consultant your challenge is to create and manage new customer relationships and generate and initiate projects. Projects supporting external companies in improving the quality of their innovation and development approaches, as well as of their innovations, speed up time to market and return-on-innovation.

Philips Engineering Solutions is already serving a broad array of external customers. We aim to elevate the revenue with our external customers. Our sales approach is fully based on consultative selling, having an innovation partnership. Your challenge is to head this approach, both in thought leadership, as well as in financial results.

You are responsible for

  • actively leveraging your existing network
  • developing and maintaining senior management and executive level clients to pro-actively create and convert new opportunities
  • shaping commercial leads into profitable contracts with customers together with your team
  • further establishing relationships for future engagements and project delivery at senior levels
  • actively marketing the organization as a key-note speaker and through articles on-line and in key publications

The department Industry Consulting at Philips Innovation Services is a dynamic group of approximately 80 consultants with a growth ambition. We work with leading clients in operationalizing their strategic ambitions in and across key areas of their business: Innovation and Operations Management taking an integral approach.

In Innovation Management we support our clients in all types of innovation be it in business models, products, services, or solutions. We work with our clients on key aspects for success: New Business Creation, Roadmapping and Architecture, and Innovation Process improvement. In Operations we work in Supply Chain Management, Operational Excellence, and Industrialization. In all these areas we use the power of digitalization and data and analytics, e.g., in developing and implementing Digital Innovations and Industry 4.0.

We work with all Philips businesses worldwide as well as with external companies.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • a Master’s degree in a technical, science or related discipline
  • a proven track record in business development and consultative selling in the field of innovation
  • proven track record of acquisition at new clients and of growing them into key relationships
  • more than seven years’ experience in reputable consulting firms
  • strong consulting, selling and interpersonal skills and the ability to gain trust, to influence, to persuade, and to build strong relationships
  • experience in innovation management consulting projects to be able to unearth issues and opportunities and shape the engagements
  • existing customer relationships to activate and develop sales
  • a self-starter and team player attitude
  • fluency in English and willingness to travel up to 25%
