We’re looking for a Hue Bridge Engineer - Device Management Intern to join our R&D Hue Connected team in Eindhoven.

As an IoT Device Management Intern you will be working alongside other software engineers on one of the world’s largest commercial IoT systems. The team is continuously improving the IoT functionality by a/o improving the performance and availability of the services so a customer-first mentality must be in your DNA...

What you’ll do

  • You'll join the R&D team in Eindhoven working in the IoT team with hardware/software developments

  • You'll perform various experiments with different hardware/software set-ups

  • You'll perform performance benchmarking (CPU, memory, flash)

  • You'll do some actual coding/porting and testing of various parts of the IoT code base

  • You’ll be actively participating in our virtual intern network where you’ll be working on business cases, personal development and building your internal network

Your qualifications

  • You are finalizing a Bachelors, Masters or PhD study in the field of Computer Science / Software Engineering

  • You have experience with Linux (preferably Yocto) and/or Android distributions and can bootstrap operating systems on various hardware platforms

  • You understand the agile development process and are familiar with test-driven development

  • Ready to learn on the job

  • A self-starter who has affinity with software technology, preferably in Linux/Android application domain.

  • Proactive and enthusiastic to communicate with senior stakeholders

  • Available for minimum 6 months (> 32 hrs/week) and able to start your internship in January/February 2022

  • EU/EER students: In order to be considered for this internship, you need to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation of this may be requested at any time.
  • Non-EU students in Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement. The internship needs to be a compulsory part of your studies (receive ECTS in turn). In case of non-compulsory internship, you need to have a letter from the university in which it states that your internship contributes to your personal development, what your learning goals are and what tasks you will undertake during your internship. The letter has to be signed and stamped by your university.
  • Non-EU students in non-Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student and the internship should be a compulsory part of your studies.
