Trainee Finance Business Partner

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Develop a good flavor of the finance world of Domestic Appliances (DA). Ultimately to develop into an all-round Finance Professional (or Controller). How? By supporting our teams making meaningful business decisions based on sound financial analyses in support of our consumers every day. You will learn from and work with inspiring, ambitious people in different disciplines across all levels of the organization. Work alongside key finance staff (the Finance Leadership team and the CFO) from day 1, you will develop a strong understanding of the Domestic Appliances business and how to drive value generation and change in the business.

You are a part of

A journey across the Domestic Appliances Business Group to develop you and your skills. Currently, part of Royal Philips we will transition to being a standalone independent entity during Q3 2021, promising great opportunities for further growth.

Your journey will consist of the following learning steps

Introduction to BG Domestic Appliances & skills development (1 month) Accounting Reporting & Internal Controls (ARIC): develop big picture and understand our accounting and internal control processes from journal voucher to consolidated financial statements (3 months) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): learn our systems, reports and how to turn data into actionable information (3 months) Corporate Finance & Strategy: learn more and contribute to Global Finance functions like Treasury, Tax and / or Strategy (3-5 months) and Investor Relations Market F&A: learn a customer facing mentality (10 months)

You will amongst other become responsible for

  • Project Management Office (PMO) activities for the Finance Leadership team and CFO

  • Coordinating Investor relationship activities

  • Month end close activities like results analysis of balance sheet, P&L and cashflow statements and financial reporting plus follow up on action points

  • Support to the forecast & (subject to timing) budget process

  • Sales, margin and costs analysis

  • Business case development

  • Project management of Finance improvement initiatives

  • Managing fluent and frequent communication with manager and key stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Masters degree in Finance

  • Entrepreneurial attitude and show commercial and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to turn data into information

  • An excellent communicator, with keenness to convince others. Fluent in oral and written English.

  • Having excellent planning and organization skills

  • Able to balance strategic thinking with a “hands on” and pragmatic approach.
