Teamlead Transport Coordinator (f/m/d)

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

join Philips Domestic Appliances business, a global leader with EUR 2.3 billion sales in very successful home products, kitchen appliances, coffee and garment care.

You will be the teamleader for the transport coordination team (7 FTE of which 5 are based in Hong Kong and 2 are based in EU) Next to this you will also be actively involved yourself in transport coordination. The transport coordination team takes care of the transport coordination and all related processes; to ensure all Domestic Appliances products will reach our factories, warehouses and customers within the contractual agreed transit times on the most cost-effective way. Output of this role is crucial for the total supply chain to ensure smooth shipping and payment to carriers. Your key stakeholders, next to the transport team, are suppliers and procurement. You will report to the Global Transport Manager.

You are responsible for

  • Coordinate transport from DA suppliers and factories in Europe to our warehouses globally, to our factories (components) and to our customers (direct deliveries). Activities include support with transport related issues, TMS issues, documentation issues. It includes different modes of transport (e.g. road, sea, air).

  • Lead the transport coordination team to manage & improve Logistics performance & cost effectiveness for mainstream transport with focus on Customer First.

  • Take lead or active role in global mainstream transport projects with E2E perspective, driving close collaboration with all stakeholders.

  • Assure compliance of Philips DA Supply Chain Security & Export control

  • Drive continuous improvements in operations and efficiency by enhancing SOP, streamlining workflows / control points.

  • Responsible for the transportation budget & volume forecast

  • Lead and drive all the system changes relate to shipping area e.g., SAP for billing & INFODIS for transportation mgt system

  • Embrace & put in place LEAN & Daily Management practice

  • Take lead to drive OEM suppliers to perform shipping activities according to Philips DA's requirements

  • Issue and follow up the invoices and the full sets shipping documents to customer to ensure goods arrived on time in the RDC/DC w/h

  • Focal point to key markets / supplier on all shipping compliance matters and ensure operational process are up to date to fulfill all these logistics requirements

  • Work as key user with the Global Transportation system (INFODIS) for the site and able to provide continue improvement on E2E data visibility

  • Act as first escalation level for delays, losses and damages

  • Proper data quality and management in the various systems and check on usage by OEM’s

  • Support in KPI creation and evaluation

  • Issue management on systems and carrier performance

  • Monitoring and managing carrier performance

You are a part of

Philips Domestic Appliances Integral Warehousing & distribution team. This team will be responsible for Transport, Warehousing and Distribution globally for business Domestic Appliances, running an efficient business and at the same time constantly transforming and innovating and building new capabilities to improve for our customers. This role will be based in Eindhoven, NL and report to the global transport manager based in the Netherlands. The team is spread across locations in the Netherlands (Eindhoven, Drachten) and across the rest of the globe.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics and / or supply chain management.

  • At least 5-7 years experience in the logistics field with min. 3 years experience at supervisory level

  • Business and Supply Chain Savy (Experience in Global transportation, especially ocean freight essential. TMS experience is essential)

  • Excellent excel skills (i.e. functions like VLOOKUP are critical) as well as strong knowledge in IT applications e.g. SAP / ERP / Excel etc. TMS (Infodis/ SAP TMS)

  • Being accurate also good communicator / presentation skills

  • Cultural sensitivity and customer oriented (internal/external)

  • Able to motivate and develop team members as well as to work under stressful circumstances and to work against deadlines

  • Fluency in English. (Mandarin is absolute pre)

  • Good analytical and strong communication skills, Able to work independently and willing to take new challenges, Lean skills, especially Daily Management, is a nice to have
