We are hiring a Lead Procurement Manager in the Supply Chain (SC) domain to support the needs of the SC department. The chosen candidate will join our Procurement team, under the CFO domain, and consists of 7 international colleagues that report to the Head of Procurement and manages a team of 3 supply chain Procurement Managers. We are looking for an experienced professional with at least 12 years background in a similar role;

Introduction

The Lead Procurement Manager is responsible for the selection of the best possible Logistic Service Providers (LSP’s), as part of the Supply Chain Procurement team which are sourcing Transport Service Providers (TSP’s) and other Distribution Center related services. The main focus lies within the coordination of all activities on contracting outsourced operations in relation to the expansion of new distribution centers, but it also entails the improvement of contract principles with learning and insights for new contracts as well as during renegotiations of existing contracts.

Additionally, managing the Procurement managers of the Supply Chain Procurement team is an important part of this job. You will take the lead and give clear working instructions and plan the employees and activities in such a way that targets are achieved successfully. Managing people will also involve the improvement of employee skills through constructive feedback sessions, by explaining and coaching. It is important to enthuse the employees and clearly indicate the intended effect of the targets so as to create a positive work attitude and an inspired team so as to enhance their performance and personal development related to future requirements and priorities. You will also stimulate employees to participate in the thought process and to contribute new ideas in order to learn from their own experiences and those of others.

Strategic Business Partner
In this role you will be the trusted business partner for the SC demand side for all external spend. You will coach and train a group of procurement managers and relevant stakeholders with regards to in- and outbound insights and procurement best practices. Additionally, you are able to articulate, advocate and work effectively at a senior level to build relationships, develop support, and advance the activities within, and strategy of the company, and you are able to liaise effectively with executive vendor management and have contract negotiation skills covering complex agreements.
RFP process
You will create and select supplier strategy for the Supply Chain, specifically LSP’s, and you will execute the Tendering & Supplier selection, Contracting & Implementation.
Relationship Management
You will maintain supplier relationship management for the strategic suppliers at an executive level, and ensuring leverage of existing suppliers & contracts. You will organize and lead Quarterly business review meeting with EB members and Strategic suppliers, and you will drive actions to drive cost out of the relation/improve ROI.
TCO Management
You will create sourcing strategies for Supply Chain to prioritize impact of procurement efforts. Additionally, you will balance our long term business needs, short term cost efficiencies and available (fact based / systems driven) knowledge of (future) developments, and leverage the size of the company, tools & processes to ensure maximum result.
People Management
As a Lead Procurement Manager you will be responsible for managing and developing the team of Procurement Managers, and set priorities and manage their workload. Moreover, you will give input to further professionalize the procurement department.
Contractmanagement
You will set the (best practice) standard contracts for our top suppliers, and you will follow up with stakeholders to ensure contract reflects reality and adjust where needed. Furthermore, you will manage contracts due for renewal/renegotiation and/or exiting the supplier.

In addition you have:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Finance/ Procurement
  • A minimum of 12 years of working experience in Procurement and/or supply chain environment
  • Experience in working in an international/ multi country/ matrix environment
  • Management experience is a pre
  • Experience in contract- and vendor management
  • Excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language (oral and written)
