ENERGY UTILITY ENGINEERING CONSULTANT

With your knowledge of energy utility systems like steam boilers, chillers, CHPs for various applications in the food- and beverage industry as well as others, you help reach the best possible results in our projects. By doing this, you contribute to our promise to enhance society together.

What you do as Energy Utility Engineering Consultant

In this role you will be engaged in small consultancy teams or in multi-disciplinary teams. For most projects you will be involved in the early project phases. You will mainly be working on:

  • Elaboration of technological concepts;
  • Selection of a preferred solution;
  • Generating a Basis of Design;
  • Organising the development of engineering deliverables.

During the next project phases, you will review Basic Engineering deliverables, draft tender documents and you will evaluate tenders of contractors.

As an Energy Utility Engineering Consultant, you will become part of the Advisory Group Resources Logistics & Power, which is part of our Business Line Industry and Buildings (I&B). Within I&B we support industrial clients in developing their projects. Our clients are active in the Industry, mostly business to business, whom we help them with contributions to the energy transition, the CAPEX required to invest in state-of-the-art energy systems, how it fits into their existing plans, the best procurement strategy for this project and what the required next steps for the realisation of this project would be. Our Energy Engineering Consultants provide them with all the answers to these questions.

Apart from assisting our clients with the above-mentioned questions, we are regularly involved in technical due diligences (for mergers and acquisitions) where we advise about risks and opportunities of the prospect. Typically, we will be involved in the early project phases; translating the client’s wishes into the first design sketches and flow diagrams up to the selection of an optimum concept, based on a thorough understanding of their processes.

What you bring

In the role of Energy Utility Engineering Consultant, we expect you to be comfortable in a consultancy role, have a go getter, proactive and flexible attitude and be a real team player. You have experience with conceptual engineering, as well as with using software for developing preliminary heats & mass balances. It is important for you to stay up to date on the newest developments which you can apply in your projects, like industrial electrical boilers, heat pumps, integrated systems, and other relevant advancements within the industry.

In this role you must be client oriented and able to develop and manage the commercial phase with clients. You must be a networker who has access to a large personal network within the Dutch industry, including connections with the OEM-suppliers of energy utility systems. Furthermore you:

  • Have a relevant academic degree of engineering;
  • Have 5-10 years of relevant experience;
  • Know how to present yourself, our company and projects in Dutch and English in a professional way.

We expect you to live in the Netherlands, since you will be based in our office in Rotterdam. As our clients are based all over the Netherlands and Europe, flexibility towards traveling is expected.
