We’re searching for an IT Manager to head up our Dutch IT team and be the co-driver of Specsavers’ technological agenda. You’ll work from our Dutch support office in Maarssen.

What you’ll do?

Your mission is to link the regional IT team in Northern Europe, the Dutch management, and the Dutch stores. Your three main areas of responsibility will be:

Act as a sounding board for the Dutch organisation regarding technology:

  • Be a strategic partner to the country by demonstrating thought-leadership and working with the Technology organisation to achieve our country objectives
  • Facilitate resolutions to usability/performance issues that impact country performance
  • Advise and guide local management team on how to resolve IT issues

Lead the Service Desk and its deliverables:

  • Day-to-day leadership and development of the Country IT Service Desk team
  • Be a strong advocate for leveraging the existing portfolio of services, platforms, technologies, and solutions to drive business value while balancing related costs
  • Be responsible for key performance measures for the Service Desk
  • Hold NESO IT Product teams accountable for Service Transition and quality of code releases
  • Keep retrospectives on all deliveries to ensure we continue to improve and reduce impact.

Ensure implementation of regional projects/deliverables and good communication around these:

  • Feed into the design of existing systems and provide recommendations to the Technology organisation for future systems
  • Present to the Partnership at internal seminars and meetings
  • Translate (where required) the technical language into something the Partners and country office will understand.

Who are you?

You are a dedicated leader who can build a team and an environment where everyone contributes and supports each other to reach their common goals.

You should also have a good commercial understanding of the business, be business-oriented, see the bigger picture, and translate the organisation’s needs into “IT language” and vice versa. Finally, you make things happen quickly so that our stores are supported with a solid technological set-up.

You can check the boxes on these areas:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading a Service Desk
  • Experience within change management
  • ITIL V4
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken language.
