Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Netherlands is the pharma division of Eurofins in the Netherlands. The 4 Business Units located in Leiden provide a wide range of analytical development, validation and testing services on biologics and small molecules, and carry out fill & finish services for sterile products during early clinical phases. These Business Units are located across 2 buildings in Leiden.

Due to rapid growth and as a result of our plan to create a single site with an integrated (bio)pharma testing solution, we are planning to invest in the construction of a new facilitity (10,000+ sqm). We are looking for the right person to lead this project which will span several years. After completion of the project, there will be ample possibilities for a continued role in our fast growing and entrepreneurial organization.

Job Description

The New Building Project Manager is responsible for the planning, design, construction and commission of a new building and laboratory infrastructure. Main responsibilities include assembling and leading a project team and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders, such as architects, engineers and construction companies. You will translate the objectives into more detailed plans and you will monitor progress from financial as well as operational perspective and you report deviations.

In order successfully drive this highly complex and challenging project, a proactive approach is required. Plans and analyses have to be thorough and you will need to find the right balance between the required level of detail and the big picture and overall progress.

Main responsibilities include

· Responsible for the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of a new building and laboratory infrastructure

· Lead the project team

· Chair project team meetings

· Chair steering committee meetings

· Ensure alignment with a.o. MD, BU Managers, Quality Director

· Maintain contact and coordinate with architect, construction company, engineering company, municipality, consultants, pharmaceutical authorities and other external stakeholders

· Translate high level plan and budget for the project into detailed plans, timelines and budgets

· Create and maintain project tracking tools to ensure all parties are clear on expectations and responsibilities and maintain accountability for all new building activities

· Manage and monitor the design process (URS, sketch design, preliminary design, final design, technical design and design for execution) in collaboration with the architect and other parties

· Proactively identify project delivery risks, establish mitigation mechanisms and communicate

· Manage, monitor and/or report

Qualifications

· At minimum MSc degree in life sciences, engineering or other relevant area

· At least 5 years of experience in managing large and highly complex projects in pharma or related markets

· Experience in managing the entire process of constructing a new laboratory building or pharmaceutical manufacturing site, from conceptual plan, through design and tendering, up to execution, qualification and commissioning.

· Preferably experience with regulatory inspections

· Leadership experience

· Able to maintain focus on the big picture and the goal.

· Hands-on, hard worker, and focused on achieving results

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Fluent in Dutch and English.
